Wonderful video. I have Addisons disease ans multiple nodular goiter. My last TSH test was 3.8. My doctor says its normal but I am so tired all the time, have anxiety, headaches, cold etc. What do you suggest?

Does it really help my adrenals or should I not take them? Can I get addicted to this or will it make me worse if I stop taking them? If you can answer, I would really appreciate it. By the way I did the saliva test and waiting for results.

I have a question …
I have a question regarding the adrenal glands. My doctor prescribed Pregnenolone 10 mg and DHEA 10 mg. She told me this would support my adrenal glands. I am afraid of the side affect which I am already getting. A long hair that grew on my cheek (just one hair 1 inch long). An occational pinple that I never used to get and menstrual cramps at age 38? I just switched from 75mcg synthroid to 2 and a half grains of westhroid. Is it really necessary to take these supplements (preg and DHEA)..

The body needs T3, …
The body needs T3, T4, T1,and T2. Synthroid has T4 only. 98% of doctors prescribe synthroid to every thyroid patient! And to top things off none ever check the adrenal glands. Keep up the good work and post more information. I do appreciate it!

Continued…If I would have listened to my first doctor. I would have no uterus or it would be burnt. The sad part is that I brought my doctor all the information about Reverse T3 and he refused to look at my informanton and actually got mad at me for questioning him! I left this doctor and did my own research on the subject. I don’t care if I have to pay out of pocket. All I want is to feel better.

Continued…Wrong! …
Continued…Wrong! My gyn wanted to treat the symtoms which was the heavey long periods. He had no idea that it had to do with my thyroid. I switched doctors and found one (not mainstream) that confirmed that I was hypo despite my “normal TSH” previouse test. She tested the whole thyroid panel including the Rt3. I am on westhroid. Amazingly my perioids have normalized. Its ashame that some doctors aren’t willing to investigate further at patients request.

I wish there was more doctors like you! I am a thyroidles patient and have been for the past 10 years. I had RAI treatment. I have been on synthroid since then. I had all kinds of symptoms from dry skin to constipations etc… the worst one was my periods lasting the whole month. Heavy the first three days and spotting through out the month. My doctor said I was on the right dose of synthroid. My gyn wanted to burn my uterus or pull it out! He said that would take care of the bleeding!

Thank you so much for taking the time to educate and help. My TSH was 20.4 6 months ago. I was breastfeeding my 6 mo baby and feeling horrible. My OB put me on Synthroid; I retested 12 weeks later at 5.5. He said great, now you’re normal. I felt some better but not great and since I’ve stopped nursing I’ve gone back to feeling horrible. I know I need to see a specialist. How can I find a doctor (what questions do I ask) who will do complete thyroid testing and be aggressive in my management?

I have been on Synthroid for 4 months now. My doctor only tested my tsh, which comes back in the normal rang. He has not tested my T3 or T4 or any other test. I still feel real run down and exhausted. By mid afternoon I am so tired! My throat is sore at times, and feels scratchy. I told him that but he just said to come back in 3 months. He has not ordered anymore blood work during that time for my thyroid. Just the blood work for my high cholesterol and triglycerides.

Hi,
If you adrenals are borderline or weak pregnancy will make symptoms worse (usually after giving birth). Women can feel very tired but can’t sleep and catch things very easily after giving birth. Usually the symptoms are not very obvious during pregnancy. Your progesterone can also be affected and may need to be supplemented if you are trying to get pregnant but can’t or miscarry easily. Hi Dr. Wang, thank you so much for your vlog on this subject. What are the possible effects of exhausted adrenals on pregnancy? And if a person’s adrenal glands are exhausted, what is the effect on the rest of the female hormones, such as progesterone, etc? Thank you again for this vlog…it’s probably helped me more than any info I’ve gotten from the net or my doctors on this subject!

Hi Dr Wang, Thanks so much for your video blog.I just found out recently that I have Hyperthriodisn,at the moment I’m taking the medication call “methimazole”
The thing is that my specialist said that I can take them once a day ( 3 pills ) but i decided to take them one at the time/3 times per day because I’m a bit worried on the side effect if i’d take them all at once.
So what is the better option to take methimazole? 3 pills at once? or shall i spread them out?
